Visualizing Your Bliss...

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

I’ll admit when I was first introduced to the idea of vision boards (or what we like to call your Bliss Board), I thought it was completely bogus! Really, I’m going to put some pictures of my dream life on my wall, then they will magically appear?! Come on!

Well, the joke was on me and I sooo wish I would have tapped into this powerful tool earlier in my life. As I learned more about visualization, I learned that there is a simple explanation as to why they work! Guys, Olympic athletes have been using visualization techniques for decades to improve their performance. For all you planners out there, there are even studies showing that visualizing yourself doing something activates the same areas of the brain that are activated when you are actually doing the same thing in real life.

What the?!

I can say, without a doubt, that once I embraced this tool, my dreams started to become a reality.

So let’s get your Bliss Board done already, here are a few tips to help you get started....

1. There really is no right or wrong way to create a Bliss Board! You simply choose pictures or images that help you focus on your goals and your ideal life. Choose images that represent all major aspects of your life. A simple way to do this is get a poster board and divide it into 4 sections. Business, physical, family, personal/spiritual. Find pictures that relate to the person you want to be or the goals you want to achieve in each of these areas. Google images will be your friend to help you find the perfect image for your Bliss Boards. Ask yourself the question, “What inspires me and motivates me?”

2. Keep your bliss board simple and specific. One or two pictures per area. Don’t confuse your brain with 20 million words or phrases. If it’s too distracting it will be hard to get your brain to focus. For instance, you may have a picture of money and underneath it write 10K per month. Or a picture of Disneyland and under it write dream vacation. It’s specific and simple!

3. Once you have finished your Bliss Board, you need to put it to use. Look at it every morning and night. Imagine and visualize how you will feel and what your life will look like when you have reached your goal or dream. By spending time with your dreams, you will inevitably get closer and closer to them.

One of my favorite things to do is to keep a binder of all the dreams/goals I’ve taken off my boards over the years. Each time I achieve a certain goal, I take it down and put it in my book. It’s so fun to look at all the things we have been able to manifest as a result of our hard work, planning, and visualization. Bliss Board, baby!

So, get started tonight. All you need is a poster board (or wall), and a printer. You got this!!
